Bowman Constructors was tasked with building a 3,5000sf addition to the existing Humane Society.

The new area features new office spaces for employees, surrender area, small animal nook, cat condos and holding, surgery and recovery center, bathrooms, and a new entrance and reception area.

On top of the additions, Bowman also renovated existing rooms with new flooring and tile.

This project was a complete renovation of three separate floors. Each floor has a 9,000sf footprint.

The project includes multiple offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, and training facilities.

The largest challenge on this job was that the team was working on office spaces that were on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floor. Delivering supplies and materials to the site was a large challenge.

Our team devised a way to take out a couple of windows and utilize boom lifts to deliver the needed supplies 90ft up to the teams.

The New England Outdoor Center is the home of Twin Pine Cabins, the Penobscot Outdoor Center and the River Drivers Restaurant.

The cabins were built with structural insolated panels which help with energy savings.

There were 10 seperate buildings built across the property.

Construction of the project was a pre-engineered building added to an existing wood building. Scheduled start date of the project was late fall with completion expected by the spring.

This was a design/build project where we engineered a space of transition from one building to the other to accomodate the different types of construction and building envelopes.

The existing building was a multiple additon and the new addition had to tie in at key structural points.

Bowman Constructors performed multiple/detailed field measurements to ensure the existing and new structures would appear seamless.

The challenge for this project is that the owner required a short construction turn around.

Bowman Constructors adjusted and ultimately entered into a design/build agreement to shorten the permitting and construction time.

The main challenge for this project was that the wood truss system was large in nature.

Bowman Constructors assembled the truss’s on the ground and flew into place.

The building needed to be erected behind a operational convenience store.

Bowman Constructors utlized temporary walls and barriers to limit interruption of business.

We were engaged to renovate and double the capacity of UPS deliveries, starting in September, for the holiday season. Work was completed on time for the holiday rush.

We worked integrally with the construction manager and UPS to phase the expansion and renovation on a critical path method which changed daily.

The operations building was built to service a large wind farm project. The remote – high elevation project proposed seasonal challenges. There was no communications, electric, or other municiple facilities in the area. Schedule required Bowman to start the project in October with completion slated for April.

Bowman set up temporary heat plants and electrical generators to service the building and provide frost protection for the concrete construction 24/7.
